Saving money through energy efficiency

Title : Saving money through energy efficiency
By Richard Anderson and Damian KahyaBusiness reporters, BBC News
I think our environment is under threat from many different things. We have allowed too much pollution to enter our ecosystem. So we are in danger of poisoning ourselves as a result. I think soil erosion and water contamination are two of the most urgent problems that we need to deal with.
Clearly our current lifestyle is not sustainable. The government should educate people about these problems and encourage us to change our habits. They need to show everyone that we are putting the very future of our planet at risk. It is unrealistic to expect everyone to change their buying habits overnight. When it comes to protecting the environment, cost should be irrelevant. There is an urgent need to find a way of life that is less damaging to the Earth. This is not easy, but it is vital, because pollution is pervasive and often life-threatening.

Internet may be changing brains

Facebook is a social network site which connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around. People use facebook to keep up with friends, upload pictures and share with their friends. There are at least 800 million active users around the world.
Since the brain is plastic and it can change over time. There is a strong link between the number of facebook friends a person have and the amount of grey matter in certain parts of their brain. It depends on the number of facebook friends a person has.
The Facebook is making much easier for people to stay in touch with each other.
When I surf the Facebook site I often lose track of time. Before I know it a few hours have gone by. I get to know what my childhood, high-school friends are doing, even if they are in another part of the world. Facebook has brought back a lot of childhood friends. I know that there are always the pros and cons on both ends. The article said the study cannot tell us whether using the internet is good or bad for our brains.

Ready for the robot revolution?

Title: Ready for the robot revolution??

Content: Robots are about to invade our lives

I have been trying to get some ideas together. Today, advanced technology has brought many benefits. As a Physics teacher, I find robots are really interesting and cool. Therefore, I chose a topic about the robot revolution from the BBC news. Robots are very useful in performing household chores, entertaining and educating our children, looking after the elderly, Researchers say robots will soon be welcoming their creations into our homes and workplaces. Researchers are developing new laws for robot behaviour, and designing new ways for humans and robots to interact.
"Current robots are not human like.  Famous roboticists believe the time is coming when robots start looking less like machines, and more like us.
"Everything is becoming automatic, and that means everything is a robot. People want to have a better interface. Scientists hope that in the near future we are going to use more human-like robots.
However, there are some disadvantages to the technological era. For example, people today want to have the very latest technology but computerization has led to fewer jobs and less human contact as many everyday transactions are now done by computer rather than manually.
