People power 'overlooked by energy policies'

I think our environment is under threat from many different things. We have allowed too much pollution to enter our ecosystem and we are in danger poisoning ourselves as a result. I think soil erosion and water contamination are two of the most urgent problems that we need to deal with.
Clearly our current life style is not sustainable. The government should educate people about the problems and encourage us to change our habits. They need to show everyone that we are putting the very future of our planet at risk.
At least communication technology in this digital age hasn’t let us down. Even in the most remote areas
people have access to some form of communication device. But we shouldn’t forget the people power.
Reducing waste and clearing up pollution costs money. Yet it is our quest for wealth that generates so much of the refuse. There is urgent need to find a way of life that is less damaging to the Earth. This is not easy, but it is vital, because pollution is pervasive and often life-threatening.
